Chameleon & Wildlife tour 2008
Chameleon & Wildlife Tour 04/2008 An unparalleled expedition with regular local and experienced guides that accompany us during the entire trip through Madagascar In April, we choose to visit the eastern coast because fauna and flora are then abundant on the island; tropical vegetation is guaranteed and the animals show their prettiest colours. In certain places you imagine yourself in Jurasic Park. The emphasis lies on admiring different sorts of chameleons; our guides are well acquainted with the region, and know how to find them. Of course, on our expedition you will also be able to admire other animals that are indigenous to this island, such as the indri-indri (howling lemurs), the Nile crocodile, the aye-aye (almost extinct animal), the millipede (giant centipede), etc… During this expedition you are one with nature, our meals are prepared by our local guides, sufficient time is given for making pictures and studying the animals in their natural habitat. Our expedition will exist out of a small group of nature lovers up to fifteen persons at the most that all share the common interest of admiring this unique nature. The entire expedition takes place with reliable, modern jeeps that are the property of our organisation. With exception of the night we stay in a tent in the jungle, all night stays are in basic lodges that are arranged in advance by our organisation. We sleep at least one night in the jungle in a tent that is provided by our travel organisation, under the watchful eyes of our experienced guides, a unique experience. 24 hours a day, we travel in the company of Torsten, our regular guide and a professional nature photographer, who travels to Madagascar several times each year. As a personal souvenir, everybody is given a unique photo reportage of all special moments that are captured by Torsten. Several national parks (Mandrakka, Perinet, Park d’Andasibe, Canal de Pangalanes, Nosy Boraha, Nosy Nato, Nosy Mangabe, Maroantsetra, Masoala) are visited with guides, allowing us to observe unique places and animals. During the expedition there are some breaks with possibilities for snorkeling, swimming, visiting a market, walks on the beach, meeting with the local population, night walks through the jungle, or just a proposition of your own.
